February 23, 2010

Bedford Communications, the parent company of Laptop magazine, has filed for Chapter 11 banruptcy court protection, reports Matthew Flamm of Crain’s New York Business.

Flamm writes, “Featuring extensive reviews of the latest gadgets, with an emphasis on mobile technology, Laptop publishes 12 monthly issues and three special issues per year, including Gadget Gift Guide and Mobile Buyer’s Guide. It also operates Laptopmag.com and trade events.

“According to its Web site, the flagship magazine has a circulation target of 90,000 copies. Bedford was founded in 1988.
