James Langford has been hired as the business editor of the Washington Examiner.
He started Tuesday. Langford was previously the banking and finance editor at TheStreet.com.
He had been at TheStreet since May 2015. While there, he tripled average page views on banking and finance stories by using state-of-the-art SEO techniques and promoting content through social media and subscription newsletters.
Langford was previously digital media director at LawDragon.com for 22 months and also spent nearly six years at Bloomberg News, where he was an editor on the industry and aerospace team. He supervised nine reporters covering manufacturing, aerospace and defense companies and airlines.
He also worked at the Wilmington (Del.) News Journal, Florida Today, and the Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina-Aiken.
