LA Biz Journal hires WSJ’s Phillips to be its ME

Erica Phillips
Wall Street Journal reporter Erica Phillips has been hired by the Los Angeles Business Journal to be its managing editor.
On Twitter, Phillips wrote, “I’m sad to leave a great group of colleagues, but I’m excited to work with @LABJnews staff to find and cover important local stories.”
Phillips, who is based in Los Angeles for the Journal, specializes in covering the global supply chain — that is, everything from ocean container ships to freight transportation, warehouses and e-commerce shipping.
From 2012-15, she covered national news, reporting on economics, criminal justice, education and the environment.
She previously was a reporter for the Los Angeles Daily Journal.
Managing editor Henry Meier will remain interim editor of the paper.
