Daniel Knowles has been named the Midwest correspondent for The Economist.
He will be based in Chicago.
Knowles currently works on the foreign desk in London of The Economist. He covers stories worldwide, with a particular focus on fragile states, corruption and conflict.
Knowles was previously based in Mumbai, where he covered business in South Asia; Nairobi, where he was The Economist‘s Africa correspondent, and Washington, DC.
Knowles studied history and economics at Oxford University.
