Soumaya Keynes, the U.S. economics editor for The Economist, is leaving that beat next month and becoming European economics editor.
She has been in the United States for the past three years covering trade and globalization. She will start her new job on May 17.
Keynes also does the Free Exchange blog. Before joining The Economist, Keynes did research on the public finances and pensions at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, an economic research institute.
Before that Keynes worked in the banking and credit team at Her Majesty’s Treasury in London. She has an master’s and bachelor’s in economics from Trinity College, Cambridge.
