Japanese biz newspaper employee admits insider trading

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun apologized after it was discovered that one of its advertising employees was using access to inside corporate information to make trades and profited millions of dollars.

This wire service story reports: “An advertising employee in his early 30s had admitted misusing confidential information for insider trading in personal stock deals.

“The Nikkei announced the resignation of the chief executive in charge of advertising, Takashi Kageyama, to take responsibility.”
