Perton will hire technology reporters to launch, steward, and build consumer-facing technology websites and will be responsible for planning, hiring, growing readership, and escalating the brands and online experience.

He has a deep history in digital news, having previously served as editor-in-chief of Engadget, director of content for GDGT, executive editor of online media for Consumer Reports and executive producer for Oxygen Media. Perton has also held positions at iVillage, Citi, United Online and Big Think.
