This person will think writing about money is fun. They’ll love meeting and interviewing people who budgeted, planned, and saved to achieve their goals, and they’ll have an eye for distilling advice readers can apply to their own wallets. They’ll enjoy connecting with all kinds of financial experts to translate the dos, don’ts, and maybes of personal finance into clear takeaways.
The right candidate will use this role as an opportunity to help people with their money.
The ideal candidate has:
- Experience writing about — or a willingness to learn — the personal finance beat
- Impeccable writing skills
- An appetite for experimenting and learning
- Comfort with working as part of a collaborative, supportive team
- A self-starter attitude and strong organizational skills
- The ability to juggle multiple stories while balancing accuracy and speed
- Working knowledge of, or the willingness to learn, SEO and social media best practices
