Insider promotes Engel to executive editor, promotes three others

Julie Zeveloff, the U.S. editor in chief of Insider, sent out the following announcement on Thursday afternoon:

Team,

I’m excited to announce a few big promotions and hires in the INSIDER newsroom. Please join me in congratulating…

Pam Engel, who is promoted to Executive Editor. In her expanded role, Pam will oversee our politics coverage in addition to our global news and mil/def teams. Pam joined BI as a “main page” reporter in April 2013 and over the past year, has established our global news team as a 24/7 news machine.

Hilary Brueck, who is now senior reporter on our science desk. Hilary has built a beat around human performance and the extraordinary things our bodies can do. She’s covered everything from a Mt. Everest sherpa who works at Whole Foods when she’s not scaling peaks to Colin O’Brady’s record-breaking South Pole trek.

Ashley Collman, who is now senior reporter on our news desk in NYC. Ashley has an incredible nose for viral news, and has dominated coverage of one breaking news event after another, from the Chris Watts murder saga to the Hacienda nursing story.

Bill Bostock, who is now a full-time reporter on our news desk in London. In addition to his groundbreaking work on Absher, Bill has become a breaking news pro, covering everything from the New Zealand shootings to US politics.

And welcome to…

Anna Medaris Miller, who will join the INSIDER newsroom this month as health editor. Anna joins us from US News & World Report, where she was a senior health editor.

Libby Torres, who will join us as a junior reporter on our entertainment team. Libby has worked at the Daily Beast and Gothamist, among other publications.

Both Anna and Libby start on May 20.

Congratulations and welcome to all!

Julie
