Insider has hired Justin Rood as a reporter on its investigative team.
“I can’t wait to dig into the strange and dark corners of global business, culture and politics with this talented group of journalists,” he wrote on Twitter.
Rood was previously director of the Congressional Oversight Initiative for the past six years. Its mission is to improve and enhance Congress’s ability to conduct effective oversight and investigations.
He was also investigations director for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and senior investigator for the permanent subcommittee of investigations for the U.S. Senate.
Before his roles in government, Rood was a produce on the ABC News investigative unit, a journalist for Government Executive and a staff reporter for CQ Roll Call.
