Insider hires Okocha as associate biz editor in London

Winifred Okocha

Insider has hired Winifred Okocha as an associate business editor in London.

She will start later this month.

Okocha will be working with the growing London business desk, helping reporters continue to produce breaking business news, analysis, and features.

Okocha worked as a BBC producer and journalist. She worked for over 3 years at BBC Newsnight, as a producer and briefed high-profile presenters including Royal Television Society presenter of the year Emily Maitlis.

While there she secured a number of news making interviews with leading figures, including accountability interviews with Boris Johnson before he became prime minister, and Alan Dershowitz, as well as cultural guests from Ai Weiwei, to Chiwetel Ejiofor to Felicity Jones.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
