Insider has hired Julia Black as a correspondent.
Black, who recently reported a story for the website about Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy, has been working as a freelancer for the publication.
“Julia is persistent, fair, a talented writer, and a delight to work with,” wrote global editor in chief Nicholas Carlson on Twitter.
Black previously worked in book publishing at HarperCollins, before heading to Esquire to write about pop culture and edit features. She also worked at Bon Appétit.
As an investigative business reporter, Black’s work has also appeared in Billboard, The Daily Beast, and others. She has also been writing for the daily media newsletter Off the Record.
