Ed Semmler, the business editor of the South Bend Tribune, writes Sunday about changes to the business section of the Indiana daily.
Semmler writes, “Among other changes in today’s newspaper, you will notice an enhanced five-page Business section with all of the same features you’ve grown accustomed to in addition to more stories about local businesses.
“That will continue throughout the week as we seek to better reflect the many activities in the local business community to you as well as to those who might be considering a move or an expansion in our area.
“Because of the shift in how news is consumed these days, we believe that most of you are able to gather the top business stories from other news sources. That makes our job of telling the local business story more important than ever.
“And a side benefit of better telling the local business story might even be an attitude adjustment in the way many of us seem to view ourselves in the Michiana area.”
