Paul Dodson, who worked 18 years as a business reporter and columnist for the South Bend Tribune in Indiana before retiring in 2002, has died. He was 68.
A story in the paper stated, “Dodson’s reporting chronicled the shift in the region away from manufacturing and toward a service-oriented economy. He covered some of the biggest business stories over the years and wrote a regular column, ‘On the Business Beat.’
“‘Over the span of nearly two decades, Paul Dodson elevated The Tribune’s business news coverage every working day,’ said Ray Leliaert, Tribune business editor. ‘Paul came to work every day on the lookout for a fresh and important story.’
“Those who worked most closely with Dodson soon realized that despite his tireless devotion to his job, The Tribune and journalism were second priorities to his own family at home.”
