An increasing number of readers are engaging with local journalism content online. This is a trend that The News Tribune is not only seeing in South Sound, but globally.
To meet the changing demand of readers, starting on Jan. 25, the company will no longer produce a printed newspaper on Saturday and will launch with a Weekend Edition that includes expanded newspapers on Fridays and Sundays.
The content would be the same including comics, puzzles, TV listings and local sports coverage.
On Saturdays, breaking local news will be published on the website and social media platforms. Additionally, The News Tribune invites its readers to visit their website or eEdition, which replicates the experience of a printed newspaper online.
As the company says, “While a printed newspaper once was the sole means of accessing news and information, we now offer many different ways to connect with The News Tribune beyond print — on our thenewstribune.com website, on mobile apps, on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and through video and newsletters. These digital platforms are accessible wherever you go and whenever you want.”
The company further goes on to thank their readers for supporting them through this new strategic change.
