“When I went to CNN, it wasn’t union like the networks were, so I was able to do everything,” said Bartiromo.
“The business television industry was truly in its infancy,” she recalled. She worked at CNN for five years before joining CNBC in October 1993, where she worked for 20 years. In 2013, she joined Fox Business and Fox News.
Her last job at CNN was as an assignment editor, shooting interviews and B-rolls, putting packages together for the people on the air.
“I knew exactly who to call whatever the issue was,” said Bartiromo. But when she received a promotion that would have taken her away from interviewing and into the control room, she put a tape together and applied for a job at CNBC.
