Houston Biz Journal editor becoming Albuquerque Biz First publisher

Houston Business Journal editor Candace Beeke has been named Albuquerque Business First’s new publisher.

Both newspapers are owned by American City Business Journals.

Business First editor Rachel Sams writes, “Beeke has been the editor-in-chief of the Houston Business Journal, a sister publication, since 2010.

“Under her direction, the publication has won many awards, including first place for General Excellence in 2015 in the weekly division from the Texas Press Association.

“‘Candace’s talented leadership was instrumental in our print-centric to digital-first transformation, which greatly improved our position in the Houston market,’ Houston Business Journal publisher John Beddow said. ‘Her pluck and drive will only continue to move the Albuquerque Business First on its upward trajectory. The ABF staff and city of Albuquerque have a lot to look forward to.'”
