Hartford Biz Journal cuts print publication during pandemic

The Hartford Business Journal announced Friday that it will transition to a “100 percent digital delivery system,” meaning it will produce only in digital form beginning with its April 6 edition, reports Shawn McFarland of The Hartford Courant.

McFarland reports, “The news outlet plans to be digital-only until June 1 at the earliest, said president and founding publisher Joe Zwiebel.

“‘Make no mistake, we love print, and we know that many of you do too. Don’t worry. At some point we will all be returning to our offices,’ Zwiebel said in a statement to readers. ‘With so many working remotely, and all of us concerned about the possibility of even newspapers and groceries making us ill, the best strategy we have is to deliver the Hartford Business Journal in digital format for the time being.’

“The digital edition will include the same content as its print edition, and the Zwiebel said the website will drop its paywall. All print subscribers will have access to the digital edition.”
