Variety starts digital subscription offering aimed at industry execs

Variety has launched a digital subscription offering aimed at media industry professionals called Variety Intelligence Platform, or VIP, reports  Sara Guaglione of Publishers Daily.

Guaglione reports, “Content on Variety.com will not go behind a paywall.

“Instead, VIP subscribers will get additional benefits: a monthly long-form special report, daily short-form commentary, a weekly newsletter, data charts and video content from Variety’s summits and conferences.

“VIP content is produced by a team that operates separately from the newsroom. Coverage will range from core businesses like TV and film to new technologies, such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence.”
