Jim Hammerand has joined the Puget Sound Business Journal this week as its managing editor.
A story on its website states, “Hammerand has been with the Business Journal’s sister publication in Minneapolis for six years, most recently as digital editor managing breaking news, social media, multimedia and email newsletters.
“He will oversee the Puget Sound Business Journal’s print and online news operations and work closely with Editor in Chief Emily Parkhurst to retain, develop and recruit the region’s most authoritative business journalists to deliver exclusive and actionable intelligence to subscribers.
“Born and raised near Chicago, Hammerand is the past-president of the University of Minnesota School of Journalism and Mass Communication Alumni Society Board and has won reporting awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, Associated Press and Minnesota Newspaper Association.”
