Max Gross, who covers real estate for the New York Post, has resigned to become editor of Commercial Observer, a New York Observer publication that tracks commercial real estate news in the city.

His last day at the Post will be Friday, Oct. 17. He will start as editor of the Commercial Observer on Monday, Oct. 20.

Gross is a New York native and previously wrote for The Forward, the Jewish weekly newspaper, where he had what was colorfully referred to as “the freak beat.” He is also the author of “From Schlub to Stud: How to Embrace your Inner Mensch and Conquer the Big City.”

He is a graduate of Dartmouth College.

The Commercial Observer has a print distribution of 12,000 and nearly 100,000 monthly unique visitors. It also has an email newsletter that is sent out three days a week.
