Endpoints News is seeking a news breaking policy reporter to cover the Food and Drug Administration.
How the biopharmaceutical industry is regulated has changed dramatically. There’s global pressure to move faster on trials, and the FDA is contending with changing consumer interest in compounding pharmacies that blur the lines between pharmaceuticals and wellness. What the FDA does next will be this reporter’s job to chronicle.
The right reporter will put regulations in context, scoop news on people and policy, and illuminate the push and pull between industry and government. Strong candidates will have a vision for the beat, an understanding of Endpoints’ mission and ambition, and a collaborative, team-first attitude.
The exact role will be shaped by the candidate. We seek to hire talent first, and build coverage around it. Successful applicants will have a background covering health policy and a demonstrated interest in biopharma. A track record of clips with vivid writing, competition-beating reporting and beat-defining ideas is a must.
Endpoints is an ambitious, award-winning specialty news publication that covers the world of biopharma, healthcare, and technology, chronicling the people, money, companies and regulations that drive those industries.
This role will work closely with deputy editor Lydia Ramsey Pflanzer and the rest of the pharma reporting team. This is a work-from-anywhere role, and candidates must be confident operating independently in a digital-first environment. The team works an East Coast schedule. Strong preference will be given to candidates in DC or who have proven they can cover the agency from afar.
Salary: $85,000-$100,000 and highly dependent on experience and qualifications
