Kaitlyn Jakola, managing editor at tech news site Gizmodo for the past year, is leaving at the end of the week.
“It’s still so freaking cool to me that I got to be a part of this amazing team, and I’ll miss it a lot. But I’m excited for what comes next,” she wrote on Twitter.
She had joined in January from Insider Inc. where she holds the post of assistant managing editor.
Previously, Jakola was an adjunct professor at New York University and has also worked as a copy chief at Mic. She has also worked freelance and as a contributing editor. Jakola also held the post of copy-editing intern at Mashable.
Additionally, she has served as a research assistant at Chicago Magazine and worked in an editorial intern capacity at both The Kitsap Sun and Northwestern Magazine.
Jakola holds a bachelor’s degree in science and journalism from Northwestern University.
