The Financial Times money reporter Emma Agyemang has been named business journalist of the year at the Words by Women Awards.
She was honored for her reporting on the loan charge and an exclusive interview with Mel Stride, who was then the financial secretary to the Treasury.
Additionally, she was commended for her January 2019 article “Living in the shadow of a tax scandal.”
The Words By Women Awards were originally launched in 2016 as a protest against the lack of female nominees in that year’s industry awards.
