Mamta Badkar, a reporter for Business Insider for the past four years, has been hired by the Financial Times.
She will start next week working for Fast FT, a service that provides news and views 24 hours a day.
Badkar had been covering emerging markets and the U.S. housing market for Business Insider. She also covered breaking economic data.
At Columbia University’s journalism school, she reported stories for The Bronx Ink. My master’s project focused on the impact music has on people with Tourette’s syndrome.
Before moving to New York, Badkar worked as a staff writer at Verve, a national monthly in India covering the cultural beat. Her most memorable reporting experience was a feature on the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks.
