Greg Gatlin of the Boston Herald writes Thursday that Fox Business Network is now available in the Boston market.
Gatlin wrote, “While Fox says the network is available in 32 million homes, Nielsen numbers show it’s drawing just 6,000 daytime viewers, compared to a reported 281,000 daytime viewers for rival CNBC, which is in 90 million homes.
“[Fox News executive vice president Kevin] Magee points out that CNBC had a 19-year head start.
“‘We’re just rolling out,’ he said. ‘We’re 11 weeks old.’
“Fox Business Network aims to appeal to a wider swath of viewers by demystifying business news. Magee says it’s resisting the urge to speak in business jargon.
“‘When we’re on our game and doing it the way we should, we are more easy to understand,’ he said. ‘We think everybody is interested in making money, or perhaps more importantly these days, not losing money.'”
