Fox Business Network Sandra Smith interviewed a former British member of parliament named John Browne about whether the country should leave the European Union, but it wasn’t the one that she thought had written a Wall Street Journal column about the decision.
The Browne who wrote the Journal opinion piece was the former BP CEO and a British lord. He supports England staying in the EU. The Browne who appeared on Fox Business was in favor of leaving the EU and was identified as the one who wrote the Journal op-ed.
Throughout the 5-minute interview, the guest John Browne did not correct host Smith once, despite being asked about “his” op-ed.
Connell McShane of Fox Business issued a correction later in the day. A story on the Fox Business website has also been corrected.
