Former Tulsa World biz editor dies

Walt Radmilovich, a former business editor of the Tulsa World and a member of the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame, has died at the age of 78, according to an Associated Press story.

The story states, “He was born Sept. 28, 1930, in San Pedro, Calif., to Henrietta and Walter Radmilovich Sr. He received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of California at Berkeley in 1952.

“Radmilovich served in the Air Force from 1952 until 1956 and came to Oklahoma when he was transferred to Tinker Air Force Base. Radmilovich met his future wife, Elizabeth Ann Wheatley, in Oklahoma City and married her in 1956.

“He joined the weekly El Reno American the following year, then moved to the El Reno Daily Tribune. He next went to work for The Daily Oklahoman, where he was assistant oil editor, before joining the Tulsa World as business editor in 1966.
