Mitchell R. Young, former publisher of the regional business publication Business New Haven, died Feb. 16 following a long illness.
A story on the publication’s website states, “The biweekly periodical was a publication of Second Wind Media Ltd., which Young co-founded in 1993 and of which he was co-owner and treasurer. Business New Haven began publishing in August of that year.
“Young’s partner in the venture was Michael C. Bingham, current editor of New Haven BIZ, who was editor of Business New Haven and president of Second Wind Media.
“In 2007 the company also launched New Haven Magazine, a glossy monthly magazine of which Young was publisher.
“Before starting SWM, Young was associate publisher of New Haven Media of Hatfield, Mass. from 1973 to 1990. The company published weekly newspapers including the New Haven Advocate, Hartford Advocate and the Valley Advocate in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts.”
