Former biz journalist starts service for companies and reporters

John Fakler, a former senior reporter with the South Florida Business Journal, has started a new business called RegReports, a regulatory news portal, compliance blog and
commercial database of industry- specific government reports.

“Workers today are multi-tasking like crazy, and don’t have time to surf the Web on the job anymore,” said Fakler, manager member of Media Logistics LLC. “RegReports is a one-stop shop for small businesses concerned about compliance issues such as Sarbox and its costly Section 404. They can now bookmark the site and research any legislative changes.”

The service could also be useful for business reporters to keep abreast of breaking regulatory news, Fakler added.

Think Tank, the regulatory blog, is designed to be an interactive forumof business compliance news, commentary and analysis.

“The idea is to provide a real-time educational experience for small firms and the professionals who serve them,” explained Fakler.

RegReports is geared to several important industry sectors, including securities, banking, finance, insurance, technology, telecom, real estate, manufacturing and energy.
