Forbes has decided to stop publishing its MountainTime magazine launched last year and aimed at those interested in luxury recreation in the West, reports Glynnis MacNicol of FishbowlNY.
Editor Philip Armour wrote in a note, “Forbes Media pulled the plug on MountainTime today. The credit collapse and poor ad sales have led the Forbes family to lose the stomach for enduring the necessary losses that could eventually get the magazine into the black.
“All freelancers will be paid in pull for published work and paid kill fees for unpublished work. Please complete all your contract paperwork immediately and return it to Forbes. (Follow the specific contract directions, or contact me with questions.)
“Producing MountainTime has been a joy, and I’m grateful for all the talent that made it shine. I’m sorry that we weren’t able to make it a success.”
