Keith Kelly of the New York Post reports that Forbes decreased the size of its Christmas bonuses this past holiday season.
Kelly writes, “In the days of yore, longtime staffers recall, Christmas bonuses of $5,000 to $10,000, or up to two weeks pay, were common.
“The time around, the bonus was a little more scaled down. Employees received a $100 bill.
“‘As a small gesture of appreciation for the talent, creativity and commitment that you each bring to our business every day, your manager has a gift of $100 for you,’ Chief Executive Mike Perlis said in an e-mail to all full-time employees right before New Year’s Day.
“Meanwhile, Chairman Steve Forbes and the rest of the Forbes family, through its Highlander Media, is trying to dissolve the 2014 acquisition of their company by Integrated Whale Media.”
