Forbes hires Shead to cover tech in London

Sam Shead

Forbes has hired Sam Shead to be a reporter covering technology in its London bureau.

He will start April 29.

Shead will cover European tech out of London and focus on scoops, investigations and breaking tech news that matters.

Shead was a senior technology reporter for Business Insider UK.

Previously he worked as startups and innovation editor for Techworld, based in London, and The Daily Mail. His writing has also appeared in The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent, City A.M., and elsewhere. He has also appeared on the BBC, Sky News, Al Jazeera, Channel 5, Reuters TV, and spoken on Russia Today and Shares Radio.

In 2015, Shead was shortlisted for Technology Journalist of the Year by the UK Tech Awards, and in 2016 he was nominated as one of the 30 young journalists to watch by MHP Communications.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
