Fierce Biotech hires LaHucik as a reporter

Kyle LaHucik

Fierce Biotech has hired Kyle LaHucik as a reporter.

He will start May 17.

LaHucik previously reported on venture capital- and private equity-backed tech, digital health and SaaS companies for Mergermarket. He has also covered the rise of SPACs, a burgeoning teletherapy space and other COVID-accelerated trends within tech.

Through various internships, LaHucik has previously reported on the Big Three automakers for Bloomberg’s Detroit bureau, profiled the University of Missouri’s first Nobel Laureate for the Columbia Missourian, covered privacy regulation for Bloomberg Industry Group, wrote Missouri Business Alert’s daily newsletter and assisted reporters in MLex’s Brussels newsroom.

He graduated from the University of Missouri in May 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and minors in English creative writing and architectural studies.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
