Erin Burnett in overdrive

Jessica Heslam of the Boston Herald takes a look Thursday at the work of CNBC anchor Erin Burnett, who has been on the air constantly during the Wall Street and economic turmoil.

Erin BurnettHeslam writes, “The financial fiasco has put the spotlight — and pressure — on cable TV’s business commentators.

“While Burnett normally logs long hours — from about 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. — she’s been working even later while covering the crisis.

“Burnett, 32, was going on the air for ‘Street Signs’ Monday just as the House rejected the $700 billion bailout.

“‘We did an entire hour with no commercials,’ said Burnett, who also co-anchors ‘Squawk on the Street.'”
