Engquist headed to The Real Deal

Erik Engquist

Erik Engquist will join The Real Deal as the publication’s senior managing editor, starting Sept. 16.

Engquist has served as a reporter and then editor at Crain’s New York Business for the last 14 years. Engquist has also written for Courier-Life Publications, The Daily Record, and Pottstown Mercury.

Engquist has a B.A. in history from Yale University.

  • No one knows more about New York politics, and there’s no nicer guy wielding a blue pencil in all of Gotham. A great loss for Crain’s, a great boon for the real deal.

  • One of the best human beings I’ve ever known. He has been an example of how we should treat each other since the day I met him more than 47 years ago.

    Erik is an astonishing person in every meaningful way.
