Dow Jones & Co. CEO Almar Latour sent out the following announcement on Thursday:

Colleagues,

We’re pleased to share that Robert Hayes is appointed Chief Business Officer, New Ventures.

In this newly created role, Rob will oversee growth across our franchises by driving emerging businesses and platforms, such as audio, video, events, strategic partnerships and gaming. These areas are core to our strategic priorities to build scale and connect with new communities.

Rob will have P&L responsibility for these emerging platforms and new business initiatives. He will partner closely with senior leaders of the News, Ad Sales, Membership, Experience/Technology, B2B Partnerships, Finance, People and Legal teams.

Rob has more than two decades of experience in global digital business transformation and innovation. He joins us from NBCUniversal, where he was Executive Vice President, NBC Entertainment & PEACOCK and helped lead the launch of NBC’s streaming service, as well as its digital transformation in recent years.

Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Rob was Senior Vice President & General Manager, Digital Media at Showtime Networks Inc., where he led the network’s international and digital businesses, developing multi-platform on-demand video subscription platforms and services. Rob started his career at HBO, launching its first international premium television channels in Central Europe and Asia.

Please join us in giving Rob a warm welcome to Dow Jones. Rob will be based in New York and will report to me. His first day is May 11.
