Jim McTague, the Washington editor for Barron’s, announced on LinkedIn that he is leaving the financial newspaper.
McTague wrote, “I am leaving Barron’s after 21-plus years June 30, generous package in hand, to open Act IV of my writing career. I will remain on the masthead as a contributing editor. Other publications already have reached out to me, which is flattering.”
McTague has been with Barron’s since January 1994, covering investing, Congress, the White House, stock market, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission.
He has also worked at the Somerset Messenger-Gazette, Asbury Park Press, Philadelphia Daily News, Dallas Times Herald, American Banker and USA Today.
McTague has degrees from St. Joseph’s University and Penn State University.
