Da Costa joins Business Insider to cover Fed

Pedro da Costa

Business Insider editor Alyson Shontell sent out the following announcement on Friday:

Hi everyone,

We have some exciting news to share.

Pedro da Costa is joining Business Insider as senior correspondent covering markets and finance, with a particular focus on the Federal Reserve. He is based in Washington, D.C.

Some of you may already be familiar with Pedro, whose work as a contributor has already appeared on Business Insider. You may even be one of the 99,000 people who follow him on Twitter.

Pedro is a seasoned reporter with a well-earned reputation for being fearless in asking tough questions of those in power. He joins us from the Peterson Institute for International Economics. Prior to PIIE, he wrote about economics and financial markets for The Wall Street Journal and Reuters, where he began his journalism career in 2001.

At Business Insider, Pedro will write opinion columns on economics and Fed policies, work with our politics team to be additional eyes and ears on the ground in Washington, and help guide our markets coverage. He’ll spend his first week (January 30th) in our New York office, getting to know all of you.

Please join me in giving him a very warm welcome!

Alyson
