D Healthcare Daily, which covers the business of health care in North Texas, has hired Bradford Pearson as editor.
He joins founding editor Steve Jacob, who will shift his focus to in-depth, enterprise stories.
Pearson will concentrate on news reports and overall site operations, including daily and weekly e-newsletters. He’ll also manage the site’s 60 contributing editors — industry innovators, top legal and financial advisors, insurance executives, and CEOs from the area’s largest health systems.
D Healthcare Daily is produced by the business media division of Dallas-based D Magazine Partners, which also includes D CEO magazine and D Real Estate Daily, another online news site. D Healthcare Directory, a guide to 9,000+ Dallas-area physicians, also falls under the business media umbrella.
“D is doubling down on the resources it is devoting to health care coverage in Dallas-Fort Worth, and that’s an important development for the local medical community,” Jacob said in a statement. “D Healthcare Daily has become extremely popular in one short year; Brad will help us take it to the next level.”
Pearson, who hails from New York, previously covered Medicare and Medicaid reform in Washington, D.C. He moved to Texas in 2010, joining People Newspapers, D’s community newspapers group. His medical reporting has been recognized with first-place awards from both the Texas Medical Association and American Cancer Society.
He has been a frequent contributor to D CEO and has also written for Esquire and Time magazines.
