Crain’s New York Business has hired Natalie Sachmechi to cover the commercial real estate beat.
She will start on May 4.
Sachmechi graduated from NYU’s business journalism master’s program in December. She has been at Forbes since June last year, first as a leadership reporter, then a billionaires reporter and am now an assistant editor on the Money team.
She also interned at CBS News.
As an NYU undergraduate, she conducted research on the implications of religion in Iran’s economy, for which she received a grant in 2017. Her academic and professional interests lie in political economy and emerging markets, as well as assisting the general population in understanding economic news.
During her studies, she has worked in the non-profit sector as an intern at the Legal Aid Society, and then as a brand strategist for a political consulting firm, Citizen HQ.
