Crain’s Chicago columnist Kapos leaves paper

Shia Kapos, a senior reporter and columnist for Crain’s Chicago Business for the past 10 years, is leaving the paper, reports Robert Feder.

Feder writes, “Michael Arndt, editor of Crain’s Chicago Business, confirmed that Friday was her last day.

“‘Shia is one of the best known chroniclers of high-profile people at the intersection of business, government and philanthropy in Chicago,’ Arndt said. ‘I want to thank her for her years of ‘taking names’ for us.’

“The move comes two weeks after Ann Dwyer was named managing editor of Crain’s.

“It appears that Kapos won’t be idle for long. ‘I spent a decade at Crain’s, and I enjoyed working with great, great editors,’ she said Friday. ‘I’m looking forward to my next chapter, which I hope to announce very soon.’

“Kapos joined Crain’s in 2006 as a lifestyle reporter and began her ‘Taking Names’ column the following year.”
