CoStar News, which covers real estate around the country, has hired Cara Smith-Tenta as a breaking news reporter.
She starts Monday and will be based in Chicago.
“I’m extremely excited to join CoStar News,” said Smith-Tenta in a message. “They’ve got a really exciting, fresh vision for business reporting, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the team and continue covering the ins and outs of commercial real estate.”
Smith-Tenta has been a freelance journalist in Chicago since the beginning of the year. She earlier worked at the Houston Business Journal for four years, first as its Money & Law reporter and then as its commercial real estate reporter, covering retail, industrial, office, construction, architecture and engineering and land deals.
She is a University of Houston graduate. While at Houston, she was editor in chief of the Daily Cougar, the student newspaper.
