Reuters desk editor Peter Cooney is retiring after 37 years at the news organization.
“Grateful for all my former colleagues and looking forward to exploring the joys of retirement,” he wrote on Twitter.
He has been a desk editor since 1998. He previously was the deputy Canada and Toronto bureau chief.
He was also the chief Texas correspondent and a correspondent based in Philadelphia.
Cooney was a reporter for the St. Catharines Standard for three years.
