CNNMoney places journalist in India

CNNMoney.com international editor Mark Thompson sent out the following announcement on Thursday:

I’m thrilled to announce that Charles Riley is moving to New Delhi this weekend to take up a new position in the bureau with CNNMoney.

Charles arrived in Hong Kong three years ago to pioneer our coverage of Asia.

He has already played a huge part in establishing CNNMoney on the international stage, and will build on that in India – the world’s fastest growing major economy.

His new role is truly global, and has three main goals:

· Provide extra firepower on U.S. news overnight
· Increase our capacity to cover stories across Asia
· Develop new India content, together with CNNi

We will be filling the Associate Editor post in Hong Kong as soon as possible. In the meantime, we’re very lucky to be able to rely on our multi-talented reporter Sophia Yan to hold the fort.
