Sean Lyngaas, a senior reporter at CyberScoop, will be leaving to join CNN as a cybersecurity reporter.
His new role begins in September.
Lyngaas has also been freelancing for the past 9 years, with his work appearing in The Atlantic, The Economist, The New York Times, and The Washington Post, among other publications. He has also worked as a Pentagon correspondent for Federal Computer Week.
He was also a contributing writer for The Washington Diplomat.
Lyngaas was also a defense tech reporter at FCW and has reported and edited for Smart Grid Today.
Lyngaas has a B.A. from Duke University and a M.A. from Tufts University.
