CNN has hired Larry Madowo as the network’s Nairobi-based correspondent. He joins from the BBC where he served as North America correspondent and before that he was the BBC’s Africa business editor.
Madowo was also a technology editor and news anchor at Nation Media Group, and a business presenter at CNBC Africa.
He was also a business reporter and anchor at Nation Media Group. He has also worked as a business reporter for The Standard Group Ltd.
He was also a regular commentator on international outlets such as the CNN International, BBC World Service, The Washington Post, Al Jazeera English, France 24 English, the World Economic Forum, Public Radio International, ABC News Australia and RTÉ Ireland.
Madowo was also named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and listed among 100 Most Influential Africans by NewAfrican magazine.
Madowo was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow at Columbia University where he graduated with a master’s in business and economics journalism.
