Sat Brainch, president of CNBC Business News Worldwide, sent out the following announcement on Tuesday afternoon:

Two years ago, CNBC started investing significantly in building a premier events business so that our unparalleled content can exist on-air, online and on the ground.  Today, we are seeing incredible success from events covering “all things money,” which is a testament to the power of the CNBC brand and the hard work and commitment of our team.

Given the scale, complexity and expanding ambitions of CNBC Events, we are announcing a new structure designed to best position us for the future:

I am pleased to announce that Nick Dunn will be promoted to Managing Director and Executive Editor of CNBC Events, reporting to me. He will be responsible for enhancing, implementing and delivering upon the overall strategic plan for our events business.  Nick’s deep experience with the CNBC brand and content combined with his clear instincts for delivering engaging audience experiences will be instrumental in driving the continued growth of this business.  Nick is no stranger to events having been one of the creators of the network’s prestigious investor conference, Delivering Alpha, and comes to this role with more than 20 years of editorial experience.  He most recently served as Vice President and Managing Editor of CNBC Business News, responsible for editorial content and guest bookings on CNBC’s Business Day programming.

Sponsors have and will continue to play a vital role in the success of our events business. Developing new revenue streams for CNBC Events will also be an essential part of our business growth moving forward.  To that end, Jonathan Meyers will continue to lead commercial growth for CNBC Events as Senior Vice President and General Manager, reporting to Nick.  In this role, Jonathan will drive both the monetization of and the long-term strategy for our events.  Jonathan has a proven track record of building conferences that create meaningful experiences for both sponsors and attendees, making him the perfect person to lead this area.

With this new structure, Jonathan, Anastasia Afendikova, Dennis O’Brien and Samantha Wright will report to Nick.  Eliza Chang, Alisha Hathaway and Molly Lavin will continue to report to Jonathan.  Dan Colarusso will immediately begin a search for a new Managing Editor of CNBC Business News.

This is a very exciting time for CNBC Events with more than 35 events scheduled in 2019 covering key sectors and topics such as investing, health care, technology, finance, politics, small business and entrepreneurship, change management, people and leadership.  I appreciate the support and commitment of the full CNBC team in helping deliver these best-in-class events to our audiences and sponsors.

Please join me in congratulating Nick and Jonathan on their new roles.
