Charleston paper hires assistant business editor

David Wren has been hired as an assistant business editor and business writer at The Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C.

A story on its website states that Wren will cover “covering Boeing Co. and other manufacturers, the maritime industry and economic development issues.

“Previously, he was an investigative reporter with The Sun News in Myrtle Beach, where he also was business editor from 1996-99, among other roles. Wren also was an assistant business editor at the Rocky Mountain News in Denver from 1999 to 2001.

“Wren is the recipient of multiple state and national reporting awards and was the S.C. Press Association’s Journalist of the Year in 2010.”
