Cattan named Bloomberg’s Mexico City bureau chief

Nacha Cattan, a reporter for Bloomberg News in Mexico City, has been named bureau chief.

She replaces Carlos Rodriguez, who will now be senior editor for Spanish-language content.

Cattan covers the Mexican economy and government for the terminal and for Bloomberg Businessweek and Bloomberg Markets magazines. Before joining Bloomberg in 2011, she wrote from Mexico about immigration and security for the Associated Press and The Christian Science Monitor, where she worked as an interim bureau chief for Latin America.

She has freelanced stories for The New York Times and began her journalism career at the New York-based Forward newspaper.

Cattan is a graduate of Hunter College in New York.
